The little mermaid

Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales are precious to children all over the world. Denmark aprreciates his works and dedicates him various statues all over the country. The little mermaid is one of those, inspired by his fairy tales. The statue, commissioned by brewer Carl Jacobsen of Carlsberg, was sculpted by Edvard Eriksen and has been gracing the harbor of Copenhagen since 1913.
